Step into a role that keeps you on your feet and out in the community – we’re hiring two full-time City Rangers for two 12-month contracts.
Key responsibilities
Patrol streets, car parks, and public areas to monitor parking compliance, animal control, litter, fire hazards and other community concerns relating to council by-laws
Educate the community on road rules, local by-laws and dog control issues
Respond to complaints and investigate issues like illegal parking, fire hazards, invasive weeds, dog control complaints and local by-laws
Perform basic admin tasks like data entry and creating standard letters
Participate in legal processes, including writing reports and assist with affidavits
Provide friendly and helpful service at the customer service counter when needed
About you
Good understanding of, or willingness to learn relevant legislation, such as Dog Control Act, Traffic Act (Road Rules), City of Clarence Public Places By-Law
Physically fit and capable of walking up to 20,000 steps per day
Confidence in working with animals, mainly dogs
Great people skills with a calm, respectful approach and able to manage difficult situations
Able to work independently, use good judgement plus be a strong team player and support colleagues
Hold a current driver’s licence and are available for occasional after-hours and weekend work
What we offer you
Base salary between $66,218.98 and $73,292.57 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation
Fixed-term – 12-month contract, full-time
