About the Opportunity
In this role, you will oversee both inpatient and outpatient oncology and dialysis services, ensuring seamless care coordination from diagnosis through to treatment completion. You will be central to the unit's clinical governance, quality improvement, and workforce development strategies - ensuring the highest standards of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of safe, evidence-based care for patients receiving chemotherapy, dialysis, and supportive treatments.
- Provide direct clinical oversight and hands-on support to ensure service excellence.
- Identify and support patients with complex needs, ensuring timely and well-coordinated care pathways.
- Mentor, guide, and support nursing staff to promote professional growth and clinical confidence.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures in line with best practice and legislative standards.
- Conduct performance and professional development reviews (PDRs) for team members.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk minimisation strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with regional cancer and dialysis providers to improve service integration and patient outcomes.
Skills & Experience
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent).
- Postgraduate qualifications in Oncology Nursing, Renal Nursing, and/or Leadership and Management - or a strong commitment to completing these.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in oncology, dialysis, or care coordination.
- Proven ability to lead teams, implement change, and manage complex care services.
- Strong understanding of cancer care pathways, renal care protocols, and the broader healthcare system.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant specialty area highly desirable
