What You Will Be Doing
Assessing and manage intoxication and withdrawal states
Act as a triage point for non-alcohol and other drug staff
Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
Use analytical skills to assess physiological, psychological and social information
This is quite an active role with onsite training provided
What You Will Need
Bachelor of Nursing with unrestricted AHPRA registration
Minimum of 3 years’ full-time post-graduate experience in Australia as a Registered Nurse
Drug and Alcohol nursing experience is mandatory – post-graduate level required
Strong working knowledge of Schedule 3 and Schedule 8 medications – experience with Buvidal and Methadone is essential
Current ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain (valid for 12 months)
National Criminal History Check issued within the last 3 months or willingness to obtain
COVID-19 vaccination evidence (minimum 2 doses)
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Experience in Primary Health, Rural Health, or Emergency Nursing
Previous Corrections experience
Venipuncture and cannulation skills
