About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder to join our team at Mlakar Fabrication in Rocklea, Queensland. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for fabricating and welding a variety of sheetmetal components for a variety of industrial applications.

What you'll be doing

Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate sheetmetal components.

Operating welding equipment to join stainless steel, aluminium, & steel parts as well as tube & pipe welding (predominantly TIG welding).

Onsite installations, steel work repairs and site fit-outs.

Performing precision measurement and quality checks to ensure finished products meet requirements.

Maintaining workshop equipment and tools in good working condition.

Collaborating with the production team to optimise workflows and improve productivity.

Adhering to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sheetmetal Fabricator / Welder (qualified tradesman), preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, measuring devices and welding equipment.

Knowledge of sheetmetal fabrication techniques and processes.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines.
