Why Work With Us?
New Horizons offers a dynamic and supportive environment that values professional growth, collaboration, and flexibility. As part of our Clinical Excellence Hub, you will have the resources and guidance to flourish in your role. Here’s what you’ll enjoy:

  • Technology & Equipment: A company phone and Surface Pro tablet provided to support your work, whether in the community or via telehealth.
  • Flexible Travel Options: Choose between a company car or receive a car allowance if using your personal vehicle, ensuring you have the mobility needed to serve clients effectively.
  • Professional Development: Enjoy a generous annual budget for continued professional development (CPD) to keep you at the forefront of evidence-based practices.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexibility in work settings, including telehealth and community-based options, helping you balance professional responsibilities with personal needs.

About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist at New Horizons, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the independence, functionality, and well-being of clients within the NDIS frameworks. Your expertise will empower individuals to achieve their goals and participate fully in their communities. You’ll work closely with clients, their support networks, and a dedicated team of professionals to deliver holistic, person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client-Centered Assessments: Conduct assessments, including home safety, functional, and workplace evaluations to meet NDIS standards. Independently assess complex participants' emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental and physical level of function. Use clinical observations and standardised assessments and interpret findings to formulate treatment goals.
  • Tailored Intervention Plans: Develop individualised, evidence-based care plans to foster client independence and engagement.
  • Collaborative Care: Partner with healthcare providers and clients' families to achieve coordinated outcomes and capacity-building goals.
  • Case Management: Attend case conferences, health care meetings, and provide consultation as needed.
  • Accurate Documentation: Ensure timely and precise records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes to maintain transparency and quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in clinical supervision and quality improvement activities, contributing to team performance and innovation.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are passionate about person-centered care and comfortable in community or telehealth settings. You should excel in empathy, professionalism, time management, and communication, ready to make a difference every day.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certification: Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience: Demonstrated skills in assessments and interventions, ideally within the NDIS sector.
  • Compliance: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Adaptability: Ability to tailor services to diverse client needs.
  • Collaboration: Strong skills in working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to Growth: Dedication to continuous improvement and innovative service delivery.

Why This Role Matters
As an Occupational Therapist at New Horizons, you’ll have the chance to create lasting change, supporting individuals to lead fulfilling lives and achieve personal goals. Your work will extend beyond therapy sessions, contributing to a more inclusive, resilient community.
