Food Technologist & New-Product-Development (NPD) Coordinator

11-month maternity cover | Matraville NSW (on-site) | $85–95 k + super (pro-rata) | fixed term contract

Join our fast-growing team and turn bold ideas into commercial winner while the current role-holder is on parental leave (July 2025 → June 2026). This contract role offers flexible work hours totaling 25-32 hours per week. Post the contract completion we will review the opportunity for the role to become a permanent part of the organizational chart.

What you’ll do:

Product innovation

Design, trial and commercialise new SKUs from brief to first production run.

Optimise formulations for flavour, cost, shelf life and allergen-safe compliance.

Regulatory & documentation

Own PIF, PFS, HACCP and retailer portal submissions (Coles, Woolworths, Aldi).

Prepare artwork sign-off packs: nutritionals, claims, country-of-origin.

Project coordination

Run kitchen and line trials; manage critical paths and supplier sample requests.

Keep project trackers and R&D databases up to date for audit readiness.

About you

Degree in Food Science/Technology OR 3 + years’ hands-on FMCG R&D.

Proven experience with shelf-stable, bakery or snack lines.

Working knowledge of FSANZ, allergen labelling and HACCP Level 3.

Juggle multiple briefs, stay calm under retailer deadline pressure, love tasting days.
