Clerk Grade 9/10 with salary ranging from $125,693 p.a. to $138,510 p.a. + super and annual leave loading

About the role
The Senior Project Officer manages and coordinates the development and implementation of a range of policy and complex projects to contribute to the delivery of initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and Government commitments.
The Major Projects Design branch leads priority projects for the Early Childhood Outcomes Division. That means we work on interesting early education and care reform projects that are important to government. We work in a fast-moving and complex environment but we also work hard to build a supportive and fun working culture.

About you
The ideal candidate will:
Have broad experience in policy and/or project work within the public sector.
Have demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of project planning, development and implementation for a range of projects
Be flexible and adaptable to change and able to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Think critically and be able to solve complex problems
Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Be willing to support and mentor other colleagues including project officers and assistant project officers.
Essential requirements of the role
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Desirable requirements
Skills in both quantitative and qualitative analysis to support policy development will be viewed favourably
Key knowledge and experience
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Knowledge or experience in the ECEC sector.
