The client:
Our client is a Civil, Transport and Earthmoving company and due to business growth, there is now an opportunity for a dynamic Contracts Administrator / Project Engineer with the required qualifications and experience to join for an immediate short-term assignment.
Role responsibilities:
- Review and understand contractual requirements for the project.
- Oversee the complete contract life cycle for the project.
- Establish and nurture robust connections with suppliers, customers, and internal collaborators to facilitate seamless contract procedures.
- Recognise potential risks and recommend suitable strategies for mitigating those risks in contracts.
- Compile and present routine reports regarding the status of contracts, compliance, and potential concerns to the management team.
- Effectively manage and pursue resolutions for any contract-related disputes or conflicts.
- Create project budgets, issue purchase orders, and offer support for processing progress payments.
- Draft and review commercial agreements with suppliers. Raise, issue and close out purchase orders.
- Track project finances (budget verse actuals).
- Maintain contract and project registers.
- Generate and submit progress, variation & contractual claims.
- Manage accounts receivables for the project, ensuring alignment with contract terms.
To be considered:
- A bachelor’s degree in project engineering, law, construction management or related discipline.
- Exceptional focus on details, methodical and the ability to identify errors with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal).
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Outstanding time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to thrive when facing strict time constraints.
- Self-driven initiative and motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current drivers licence.
- Ability to pass mine site medicals and drug and alcohol testing.
- Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months).

- Competitive hourly rate, $60 - $70 negotiable depending on experience.
- Preference is for a candidate to be a local to Collie/Bunbury area, however accommodation can be provided for candidate based in Perth.
- For the right person, an opportunity might be available for the short term contract role, to progress into a permanent position for the right person.
