About the Role

As the National Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing our national HSEQ framework. This is a hands-on leadership role, offering influence at a strategic level while supporting operational teams on the ground. You will work closely with senior leadership and frontline personnel to ensure our safety systems not only meet but also exceed compliance and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the company’s national safety systems and procedures.

Ensure full compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice, and client expectations.

Lead investigations into incidents and implement corrective actions.

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and site-based observations.

Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and workforce training programs.

Support mobilisation, shutdowns, and high-risk activities with expert guidance.

Liaise with clients, regulators, and external auditors on safety matters.

Lead, mentor, and support a team of regional safety advisors and safety committees.

Substantial travel to Kalgoorlie and Central QLD required.

Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years in a senior HSEQ role in construction, cranes, mining, or heavy industry.

Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety (minimum Cert IV or equivalent).

ICAM investigation certification (or similar).

Strong knowledge of Australian WHS laws and crane-related safety standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and improve frontline safety engagement.

Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.

Willingness to travel to project sites nationwide.
