About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator to support the upgrade and maintenance of critical middleware environments in Canberra, ACT. This role focuses on the administration of key IBM platforms — MQ, App Connect Enterprise (ACE), ISDS, and ISAM — to ensure secure, stable, and high-performing systems as part of environment uplift and transformation activities.

You will play a key role in patching, configuration, migration, and support efforts across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and upgrade IBM MQ environments, ensuring continuity and performance

Support environment upgrades and configuration changes for IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)

Manage and maintain IBM Security Directory Server (ISDS) for identity and access management

Configure, support, and upgrade IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM) for secure web access

Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams during environment refreshes and release cycles

Assist with testing, troubleshooting, patching, and deployment in accordance with change management processes

Maintain documentation on environment configurations, upgrade steps, and operational procedures

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a background in middleware administration with a focus on maintaining and upgrading IBM integration platforms in enterprise environments.

Essential:

Strong administration experience with IBM MQ, including clustering, patching, and performance tuning

Working knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) administration and support

Experience managing ISDS and ISAM, including upgrades and configuration tasks

Familiarity with middleware deployment and support processes in enterprise environments

Understanding of secure infrastructure practices and system integration

Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills

Desirable:

Experience working with or within government or regulated environments.

Exposure to Virtualisation for on-premise environments.

Familiarity with cloud and hybrid integration models.
