The Role

Council is seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Leading Hand Mechanical Fitter to lead a dedicated crew in the maintenance and enhancement of Council’s water and sewerage assets. Maintenance activities can include works on water and sewerage treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs and other Council assets.

This pivotal role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on community infrastructure while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The preferred candidate will be required to participate and complete a successful Functional Capacity Evaluation and be willing to be immunised against Hepatitis A&B and Tetanus.

Key criteria for you to be successful in this role:

A recognised and appropriate mechanical trade (e.g. Fitter and Turner);

Additional qualification relevant to position obtained through post trade training (e.g. Certificate IV or 9 modules towards an Advanced Certificate/Associate Diploma) or the ability to demonstrate skills equivalent to a Certificate IV level qualification;

Construction Industry Induction (White Card); and

Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
