Disability Support Worker Position:

The Role.
LCA is seeking dynamic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by providing tailored support in both home and community settings.
The position involves Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, including passive sleepover shifts, day shifts, and assistance within the community. Your dedication and support will help empower individuals to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
Work alongside our clients to support and assist them with all aspects of daily living, community access and social inclusion.
- Administering medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines and protocols.
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as grooming, bathing, and dressing.
- Providing high-quality, person-centred care tailored to each individual's unique needs and preferences.
- Assisting in-home and in the community with tasks such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and accompanying clients to appointments and activities.
- Support Clients to meet their individual NDIS goals; and increase their independence
- Assist and support Clients to live a more fulfilled and independent life;
- Assisting with daily living tasks;
- Focus on the Clients abilities and needs;
- Attend group activities with Clients and be engaging and supportive;
- Transport Clients as required;
- Providing companionship and facilitating community participation
- Promote and assist Clients to live an active, healthy and positive lifestyle;
- Follow all organisational policies and procedures;
- Any other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III in Disability or relevant qualifications (Desirable or willing to obtain).
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Tech Savvy for in-house apps and rosters and documenting.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals.
- Passionate about helping others;
- Manual handling and medication administration.

- A CURRENT DHS Working with Children’s Check (or willing to Obtain)
- A CURRENT NDIS Worker Screen (or willing to obtain)
- A CURRENT First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- A CURRENT Manual Handling Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Hold a current unrestricted SA Drivers License and have access to a reliable car (covered by full comprehensive insurance)
