About the Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Housing Officer is responsible for effectively completing property and tenancy management services and providing high quality customer service to applicants and tenants.
Your responsibilities:
manage a portfolio of up to 150 tenancies including but not limited to, the sign up for new tenancies, allocations, transfers, vacant and void properties, antisocial behaviour
perform six monthly rent reviews, manage rental arrears and ensure remedial actions are taken to avoid losses
conduct asset inspections on a six monthly or on a regular basis
ensure that database is accurate and up to date; report potential problems and hazards following procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualifications and/or training in housing or a relevant field
Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the community, social housing tenants and applicants
Current knowledge of the legal framework for social housing landlords/tenants
Experience of housing management or service delivery within a social organisation, including support areas like mental health, domestic violence and drug and alcohol abuse
Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritising a demanding workload
Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
Demonstrated commitment to the values of SVdPSHA and The Society of St Vincent de Paul
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
A current driving license
