Rate: $40–$61 per hour
Hours: Part-Time (Flexible, approx. 15–25 hours/week)

Are you a hands-on mechanic looking for a flexible role in an exciting new start-up? We’re an established Mountain Bike Shuttle Business (operating since 2018), now expanding into vehicle servicing and repairs. We're looking for a motivated and skilled Part-Time Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing team in Derby, a small mountain biking town in Tasmania’s beautiful North-East.

🛠️ About the Role

We’ve recently moved our Shuttle Depot into the Derby Garage and are seeking an experienced mechanic to take ownership of our 12-vehicle fleet. You’ll play a key role in setting up and managing the workshop, initially focusing on internal servicing, with the option to take on as much external work as you’d like.

This is perfect for someone independent and reliable, ready to help shape something from the ground up. There’s also potential to diversify into shuttle driving within the business.

🔧 Responsibilities

Set up and maintain a professional workshop

Service and repair a fleet of shuttle vehicles

Diagnose mechanical issues and implement solutions

Source and manage parts and tools

Maintain service logs and support system development

Grow local client work through community engagement

✅ What You’ll Need

Mechanical qualification (trade-certified)

Experience with a range of vehicle types

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently

Manual driver’s licence (preferred)

🎯 Bonus Skills

Experience with large and medium diesel buses

Welding, fabrication, or electrical expertise

Interest in mountain biking
