JLH Excavation and Cartage is a leading provider of bulk earthmoving, cartage, and quarrying services across Tasmania. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our operations team based in Mole Creek, Tasmania.

About the Role

As our in-house Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our diverse fleet of heavy equipment. This includes servicing and maintaining a wide range of machinery that supports our earthmoving, cartage, and quarrying operations throughout the region.

What You’ll Do

· • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of plant and heavy vehicles.

· • Diagnose mechanical faults and complete efficient and effective repairs.

· • Carry out inspections, servicing, and overhauls in line with operational needs and compliance requirements.

· • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

· • Coordinate with site supervisors and operators to ensure machinery uptime is maximised.

What We’re Looking For

· • Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).

· • Proven experience working with earthmoving and heavy machinery (excavators, tippers, loaders, graders, crushing and screening plant etc.).

· • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

· • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· • Current driver’s licence (HR or HC preferred but not essential).

· • High regard for safety and compliance.
