An exciting opportunity exists to join our organisation as a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accountant. This is a newly created role to meet demand for carbon accounting services by organisations across Australia. The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to undertake training, learn on the job and gain extensive experience in completing organisational carbon audits, under both voluntary and regulatory standards.
This role presents an opportunity for accountants, those who hold a degree in accounting or a related discipline, experienced bookkeepers and accounts specialists, to utilise their existing skills and experience in a new and exciting field.
Role Key Deliverables:
Provide technical GHG assessments for clients under both voluntary and regulatory standards, from initial data template generation, gap analysis, and through to report generation,
Provide articulate liaison with clients to compile data required to undertake assessments in an efficient manner, and provide clear communication in relation to existing gaps in provided information,
Maintain high degree of compliance to relevant carbon accounting standards with minimal error rates and a high level of efficiency, and
Contribute to the execution of strategic plans of CRI.
Essential Experience:
1-2 years' experience as an Accountant, or
More than 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or as a bookkeeper, or
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline.
Desired experience/traits:
Strong competency with higher level Microsoft Excel and Office functionalities,
Experience in liaising with external stakeholders in technical contexts,
High attention to detail,
Familiarity with organisational GHG audit concepts and standards,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and
Strong ability to work independently.
