The role

The Manager Major Systems is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with exceptional technical skills to provide strategic leadership and asset management expertise to Gippsland Water’s major bulk water and bulk waste collection facilities and systems to ensure that all business, environmental and regulatory obligations are met.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the day-to-day and long-term operation and management of critical assets. This includes but is not limited to, dam infrastructure, mini hydroelectric and generation, major water transfer systems as well as large-scale wastewater collection/transfer networks (both pipeline and gravity systems) serving the Latrobe Valley’s communities and industries.

What you’ll bring

Engineering expertise with real-world impact – Hold a degree in Engineering or a related field, or bring significant hands-on experience. Additional qualifications in science or technical fields will make you stand out even more.

Lead from the front – You’ve successfully led high-performing teams and know how to bring out the best in people while driving results in fast-paced, complex environments.

Infrastructure insight with a future focus – You bring proven experience working with large-scale infrastructure, ideally in water and wastewater systems. Your background spans planning, design, delivery, and maintenance of civil, mechanical, or electrical assets—and you’re always looking to the future with an eye on emerging technologies that optimise performance and sustainability
