Mechanical Installation Specialist

Role Title: Mechanical Installation Specialist (Rigging & Methodology Focus)
Location: On-site Melbourne
Engagement Type: Long-term contract role

Key Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical installation, maintenance, or heavy equipment work

Strong practical, hands-on skills with a mechanical mindset

Proven rigging experience essential (handling parts between 10–125kg)

Capable of developing and owning installation methodology with minimal need for structural alterations

Comfortable working in confined, sharp, and hazardous environments

Excellent problem-solving and situational judgement skills

Strong communication and coordination abilities

Site supervision experience is advantageous but not mandatory

Must be available for an on-site interview to assess scope

Immediate start preferred

Relevant Software Experience (Desirable but not necessary ):

AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks – for reviewing or modifying mechanical layouts

Microsoft Word / Excel – for methodology documentation and parts tracking

PDF Markup Tools (e.g. Bluebeam) – for annotating and updating documentation

Basic scheduling tools (MS Project or similar) – if sequencing is required

Scope of Work:

Disassembly and safe removal of ~80 components within a sugar dryer

Replacement of two shafts using practical rigging methodology

Navigate confined and sharp internal space with care and planning

Develop a clear and efficient methodology (to be reviewed with client representative)

May be requested to assist with site supervision on occasion
