About the role

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Leading Hand to join the team at Goodwin Vaughan, a premium residential construction company specialising in architectural renovations and custom new builds.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Leading and motivating a small team of carpenters and apprentices

Managing the day-to-day site works alongside our Site Supervisor

Reading plans, marking out work, and maintaining construction quality

Coordinating trades, ordering materials, and ensuring work is done right—and on time

Using platforms like Buildertrend and HazardCo to log site activity and keep things moving

Supporting a culture of pride, precision, and collaboration

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE

Minimum 5 years on the tools, ideally with experience as a Leading Hand or Foreman

Carpentry trade qualifications and a full set of tools

A driver's licence and trade vehicle

High standards and an eye for detail—especially on architecturally designed projects

Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

BONUS POINTS IF YOU BRING

Cert IV in Building or are working towards it

Confidence with digital job management systems

A genuine passion for residential construction done properly

The ability to support and teach younger crew members
