The OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to integrate with our specialists to better define estimates and risk management.

The role suits an industry professional with previous engineering experience, extensive industry knowledge, and commercial acumen.

Reporting to the Executive Director – Major Projects, the Senior Quantity Surveyor works with the estimating and subject matter expert teams to ensure the accuracy of estimates and risk analysis and to provide contract management support.

Expectations:

Managed a range of estimates, risk analysis, and contract management support, including being able to undertake 1st principal estimating.

Client interface lead, continuing to develop client relationships with new and existing customers.

Reviewer for major project estimates and internal reporting.

Lead estimating and risk analysis for business cases, procurement assessments and contract management assurance.

Develop an effective work method and apply systems, continuously improving the quality of work outputs.

Manage various supplier relationships, ensuring competitive prices and timely delivery.

Attend site visits for scoping works and to lead client interactions and briefings.

Skills and experience

A minimum of ten years of demonstrated experience in the Rail, Road, Water, and Energy Sectors, with an appetite to work across other diverse sectors.

Formal qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building or related disciplines.

Detail-oriented and able to undertake a critical overview of contract conditions and specifications, quantity verification, staging and construction methodologies.

Be competent in estimating packages and risk probabilistic modelling.

Able to produce detailed, accurate work and compile competitive and concise tender packages. Must be able to manage concurrent bids and projects and operate across concurrent clients and deadlines.

Can represent Agonis in commercial conversations and client interviews and make professional presentations during the bid process.

Highly effective communication skills with strong negotiation, client management, and interface capacity - a commitment to drive growth in the business.
