Infinitum Partners is seeking an Urban Planner with a highly developed background in Architecture and/or Urban Design. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in urban design, or architectural design, in addition to being a qualified Town Planner. This position requires a unique blend of planning expertise and design sensibility, offering the opportunity to lead and collaborate on innovative projects that contribute to the creation of sustainable, livable, and people centred place creation.

Key Responsibilities:

Urban Planning and Design:

Develop and implement long-term town planning strategies and policies that align with community goals and sustainable development practices.

Lead the design and planning of urban and suburban developments, ensuring alignment with planning regulations both local and state.

Work collaboratively with clients and co-consultants such as architects, engineers, landscape designers to produce well-rounded and innovative design solutions.

Project Management:

Oversee the planning, design, and execution of urban development projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Coordinate with government agencies, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications.

Support where relevant public consultations, workshops, and community engagement activities to gather input on proposed projects and designs.

Site Analysis and Feasibility Studies:

Conduct site analysis, environmental assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed developments, considering zoning, overlays, infrastructure, and environmental impact.

Provide recommendations for site use, layout, and design based on analysis and local planning policies.

Design Integration:

Integrate architectural and urban design principles into town planning projects to create functional and people centred place creation.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and governmental bodies to ensure alignment across all phases of the town planning and development process.

Communicate project progress and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and the community.

Sustainability and Innovation:

Champion sustainable urban development practices, incorporating green building principles, environmental impact reduction strategies, and innovative technologies into designs.

Stay current on trends, technologies, and best practices in urban planning, architecture, and design to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the projects.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Town Planning, and or Architecture/ Urban Design, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in town planning or urban design with related experience in architectural design.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of town planning principles, planning schemes, state planning policies, environmental regulations, and building codes.

Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, etc.) and planning tools (GIS, CAD, etc.).

Experience in project management and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge in sustainability practices, urban renewal, and smart city technologies.

Experience working with government agencies, developers, and community stakeholders on large-scale urban projects.

Knowledge of current trends in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design.
