Senior Wintel Engineer (Azure / M365)

The Senior Wintel Engineer (M365 and Azure Cloud) will work with the infrastructure team for the ongoing support of hybrid cloud infrastructure, managing and administering various M365 services, existing Azure IaaS and PaaS environments and assisting with the design and implementation of current and future initiatives to enhance security profiles of various server, cloud and network infrastructure,

Skills:

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in Wintel/infrastructure roles, with a focus on Microsoft ecosystems.
• Minimum 3 years working with Azure IaaS/PaaS in a production environment.
• Proven experience in deploying and supporting secure hybrid cloud infrastructure and be part of cloud migration, security hardening, hybrid identity implementation projects.
• Strong technical background and proven experience in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and core services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Hyper-V, PKI/Certificate Lifecyle Management, Always On VPN, System Centre Suites, Bitlocker Management, PowerShell)
• Hands-on experience on managing and administering various M365 services, including: Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, MS Planner, Whiteboard, MS Forms and inTune (MDM).
• Advanced knowledge and good experience in Azure IaaS and PaaS services including but not limited to: Azure App Service, Azure ASE, Azure SQL database, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Virtual Machine, Azure Function, Logic App, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Virtual Network, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, VPN Gateway, Express Route, Data Factory, DevOps and Repos, Sentinel, Azure Connect, Web Application Firewall.
• Experience configuring and maintaining endpoint management solutions (inTune-MDM, Defender) including web proxy and endpoint protection software.
• Strong grasp of identity and access management (IAM), including: EntraID, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, RBAC and MFA.
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, firewalls, NSGs and load balancing
• Full understanding of Azure Cloud Adoption Framework and Centre of Excellence.

Ideal requirements

• Relevant qualifications and/or certifications in M365 and Azure is desirable
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practice for automated infrastructure deployments
• Familiar with SIEM/SOAR configuration using Microsoft Sentinel
• Practical understanding of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
• Experience with Microsoft Purview technologies
• Exposure to Azure DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in Cyber Uplift projects namely Essentials 8 maturity uplift, Zero Trust Architecture, etc.
