The Team:

Digital Health: The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program team is responsible for delivering the Digital Health Transformation Strategy, a 10-year program of work that aims to transform the state’s health system into a world-class, innovative and integrated system designed to empower consumers and enable healthcare professionals to deliver better patient outcomes through system-wide, digitally enabled technologies.

The Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program, including the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, is essential for efficient delivery of frontline health services into the future. The program aims to significantly enhance healthcare for all people in Tasmania by creating a more connected and accessible health system, ensuring that all Tasmanians receive the care they need, in the right place, at the right time, ultimately improving health outcomes across the state.

The Role:

The Specialist Project Manager leads the delivery of complex, high-impact projects within the Health ICT capital and operational portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder needs. The Specialist Project Manager roles require expertise to lead in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clinical Engagement & Functional Design
  • Ambulance electronic Patient Care Record (AePCR)
  • Data Migration
  • Integration
  • Interoperability & Technology
  • EMR Foundational Infrastructure

This role provides leadership and mentorship to project teams, offering expert guidance and authoritative decision-making to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of projects. It manages contract negotiations, vendor performance, and governance activities, ensuring timely, on-budget execution that meets high standards.

The Specialist Project Manager fosters collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, driving seamless coordination and impactful project outcomes in support of the Bluegum Digital Health Transformation Program.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and extensive experience in the end-to-end delivery of complex and high impact ICT and/or digital health projects, in a government or healthcare setting.
  • Proven skills in contemporary project management methodologies and managing complex stakeholder groups to deliver high-quality outcomes within constrained timeframes and budgets.
  • Expertise in managing technology-driven change, promoting adoption of digital health solutions, and delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
  • High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and judgement in identifying risks and issues and providing recommendations and solutions.

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent full-time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:

$170,409 to $188,400 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
