About the Role
The Surgery Advanced Nurse Consultant provides operational management and support to the Surgical Nurse Leads & NUM's within CALHN Surgery
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Consultant to provide clinical leadership and drive excellence across our surgical program. In this key role, you will utilise your advanced nursing knowledge to ensure consistency, safety and high standards of care across all nursing areas. You will play an integral role in the development and implementation of clinical governance frameworks, contribute to nursing policy and procedure, and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
As a Level 4 clinician, you will operate with a high level of autonomy and accountability, delivering expert clinical support for both individual patients and broader patient groups. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to manage patient flow and access, lead improvement projects, and provide strategic advice on accreditation, risk management, and systems development. This is a unique opportunity to influence service delivery at a system-wide level while championing innovation and best practice in nursing care.
About You
You are a highly skilled and motivated nursing leader, committed to driving innovation and quality care within a complex healthcare environment. With strong clinical expertise and a collaborative approach, you are ready to make a meaningful impact in a senior nursing role.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practising certificate
Proven leadership and communication skills, with experience in team management, change facilitation, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Strong background in clinical governance, quality improvement, policy development, and evidence-based practice
Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, relevant legislation, and national healthcare standards
