The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and driven workshop leading hand to oversee the day to day operations of our fleet maintenance workshop, and provide instruction, guidance and support to our dedicated team of Mechanics.
This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills to deliver quality results.
Monday - Friday - 1pm to 9.30pm weekdays - Overtime as required

What you'll be responsible for
- Lead documented daily tool-box meetings
- Assign routine and corrective maintenance tasks in line with service schedules and operational demands
- Oversee and support fleet mechanics to ensure deadlines are being met, and high quality work is being carried out in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct QA checks, review and sign off on maintenance work orders at task completion
- Review and approve driver reported faults, coordinate timely repairs to minimize unnecessary downtime
- Ensure safety protocols are being followed and continually review workshop practices with a focus on hazard ID and control
- Supervise employee behavior and conduct. Ensure a respectful and supportive environment is maintained
- Collaborate with the site supervisor to effectively manage resources and ensure high productivity
What you'll need to be successful
- Australian recognised Heavy Vehicle trade qualification
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience on Volvo, Isuzu, Iveco drivetrains
- HR licence
- Previous waste industry experience and familiarity with S/Pak, Bucher, West-Trans bodies highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive, can-do attitude, focused on employee engagement and teamwork
Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and medical check relevant to the role
