VET Coordinator (Coordinator of Pathways and Partnerships)
Language Disorder Australia
Posted 17 days ago
Language Disorder Australia is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Coordinator of Pathways and Partnerships to lead the development of post-school opportunities for students at our award-winning school, Mancel College.
Role: Coordinator of Pathways and Partnerships
Status: Permanent, Full Time (Also open to those seeking Part Time)
Role Commencing: 23 June 2025
Location: Mancel College | Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane
At Mancel College, we believe every young person deserves a meaningful and connected future, one that reflects their strengths, supports their communication needs, and opens doors beyond the classroom.
We’re looking for someone who can help build those futures.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in vocational education, transitions, or career development, and a passion for creating inclusive, individualised pathways for students with Language Disorder and co-occurring disabilities. You’ll lead the charge in developing VET programs, work placements, school-based apprenticeships, and post-school partnerships, ensuring every student has access to a future that fits them.
You’ll work closely with teachers, allied health professionals, families, and employers to ensure each young person is supported to identify their aspirations and build the skills and confidence to pursue them.
This isn’t a desk-bound job, it’s hands-on, future-focused, and people-oriented. You’ll bring together community, industry, and education to change the way students see themselves and the world.
If you value connection, innovation, and the belief that all young people deserve real choices and real opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As our Coordinator of Pathways and Partnerships, you will:
Design, lead, and manage school-based and external VET and work readiness programs
Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, RTOs, and training providers to support work experience and post-school transitions
Work alongside the school’s allied health and teaching teams to create tailored transition plans for senior students
Support students to build skills in self-advocacy, employability, and independence
Embed inclusive practices that reflect an understanding of Language Disorder and neurodiversity
Maintain documentation, reporting, and compliance aligned with VET and school-based learning pathways
Foster family engagement and confidence in the transition planning process
WHAT YOU WILL NOT BE DOING:
Working alone. This role is all about collaboration, where you’ll work alongside teachers, therapists, families, employers, and community partners.
Taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of using generic programs, you’ll be creating tailored opportunities for each student, making sure their individual needs are met.
Spending all your time on paperwork. While documentation is important, your main focus will be on making a real difference in students' lives through personal connections.
Reinforcing limitations. Supporting our students from a deficit mindset, just won’t cut it! Your role is to do the opposite, to believe in them, advocate for their strengths, and support them to see what's possible.
Waiting for things to happen. You’ll be proactive in building relationships, connecting with the community, and opening up new opportunities for our students.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Qualifications and experience in career development, education, VET coordination, employment services, or a related field
A strong understanding of the VET sector, transition planning, and post-school employment or training pathways
A passion for supporting neurodiverse students and a belief in their potential
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including employers and families
Strong communication, project management, and organisational skills
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/40122) or willingness to obtain (desirable)
QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain
BENEFITS:
What can we give you in return for your passion:
An exceptionally satisfying experience as you take students on their learning journey
Very Competitive Salary
Professional Development: Expand your skill set with opportunities for transdisciplinary development, external and internal growth opportunities.
More take home pay: How can we offer this? A little-known fact is that as a Not-For Profit organisation, we can offer our employees Salary Packaging options to boost their take-home pay by 6% - 12% per annum (up to $7,500 increase in the amount you take home and spend, rather than going to taxes).
More extras: Meal and Entertainment Card, Discounts with Medibank Health Insurance, Novated Car Leasing.
