About the role

Are you a seasoned leader with expertise in procurement, contract management, and commercial governance for major infrastructure projects? The METRONET Railcar Procurement Project is seeking an experienced and strategic-minded professional to oversee all major contracts and procurement activities. This high-impact role provides leadership and expert advice on procurement, budget management, project controls, and commercial functions, ensuring strong project outcomes that align with Public Transport Authority (PTA) and WA State Government standards.

As a key member of the METRONET team, you will be instrumental in managing complex, high-value contracts, driving procurement strategies, and implementing best-practice policies to optimise project delivery. You will lead and manage all major procurement and contract activities, ensuring alignment with PTA and WA State Government policies and project objectives. You will oversee budget management, project controls, and commercial governance to deliver optimal project outcomes while maintaining compliance with established policies, procedures, and reporting requirements, ensuring strong financial and legal probity. Additionally, you will drive change and process improvements in procurement and contract management practices to enhance efficiency and quality assurance. A key part of your role will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and effective communication across all levels.

About You!

In order to be successful, you will have

Relevant tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce, Construction, Project Management, or substantial experience in contract management and tendering.

Extensive experience in public sector procurement, project and contract management, with a strong understanding of financial, legal, and probity considerations.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage change effectively and collaborate across all levels of an organisation.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, supporting strategic decision-making and process improvements.

Exceptional organisational skills with experience in planning and managing complex project budgets and timelines.
