Your opportunity
SWHHS Medical Imaging services are based out of the hospitals in Charleville and St George. The Sonographer works within the Medical Services and Clinical Governance Division in Charleville Hospital. Other hospitals and community clinics are located in small towns within the SWHHS, therefore a Medical Imaging service operates in these areas.
The position is responsible for the delivery of specialised ultrasound services and provides professional leadership within the ultrasound service across the South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS).
The role works collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality ultrasound services to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health in accordance with organisational goals.
The senior sonographer provides high quality and effective training for medical imaging colleagues in ultrasound techniques and procedures.
The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.
Escape the city crowds and discover the red dirt wonderland where the skies are as big as the characters you will meet. Charleville is the largest town in South West Queensland, situated on the banks of the Warrego River in the heart of Mulga Country. Charleville is a reminder that the good things in life shouldn't be hurried, it's a chance to embrace the simple things in life and a celebration of community spirit with the annual Charleville Cup Races the highlight of summer.
