Our client in the renewable energy sector is seeking a customer-focused, proactive and driven IT Support Specialist to join their business in Brisbane, Australia. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, providing hands-on and remote support for hardware, software, and network-related problems. You will have a solid understanding of desktop technologies, user account management, and ticketing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support users with hardware, software, and networking issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Order and set up IT equipment, including but not limited to network equipment, computers, and mobile devices etc. for new and existing staff.
- Assist with tech onboarding and offboarding for staff complying with internal policies. This includes Windows and MAC based software and hardware system
- Dealing with remote communications, including setting up or assisting parties working in remote locations, i.e. west of Townsville.
- Assist the construction team and asset management team in selection and integration of software packages.
- Assist in SCADA system integration within different systems on the operational assets
- Troubleshooting various IT technical issues relating to desktop hardware and software, mobile devices (iOS), printing, network connectivity, firewall, security, Windows, Office 365 and more
- Maintain software and appropriate level of security within the IT function.
- Documenting IT systems, tasks, procedures and configurations.
- Some travel to other locations
Skills and experience:
- Strong customer focus is a key requirement to this role.
- A Tertiary level qualification (Bachelor’s degree or Diploma) in Information Technology
- Experience within the energy, construction or manufacturing sector is preferred
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a customer facing technical support role with a customer service focus supporting a medium size enterprise environment.
- Experience with Windows and iOS essential, GIS systems or design systems preferred
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Technical aptitude with excellent technical troubleshooting skills with Windows 10, O365, Active Directory, Network comms equipment.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Desk).
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
