Mechanical Fitter
Location: Mackay, QLD
Rate: $50/hour + Penalties
Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Friday: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Our client, a well-established and respected name in the fixed-plant maintenance industry, is seeking an experienced Workshop Fitter to join their high-performing team in Mackay. This is a great opportunity for a safety-conscious tradesperson to work with crushers, sizers, HPGRs, and gearboxes in a clean, well-equipped workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Disassemble and assess fixed-plant equipment for wear, damage, and defects
• Refurbish and reassemble components to operational standards
• Follow technical drawings to carry out precise repairs and rebuilds
• Maintain a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop space
• Uphold safety procedures and company policies at all times
• Work with pride, professionalism, and a commitment to quality workmanship

What We’re Looking For:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
• Minimum 1 year post-apprenticeship experience, preferably with crushers, HPGRs, or gearboxes
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong safety focus and a positive work ethic
• Unlimited working rights in Australia
• Current Driver’s Licence

The Following Tickets Are Advantageous:

• Crane Operator Ticket
• Forklift Licence
• Dogman Ticket
