About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the day to day operations of the Cape Byron Power assets, ensuring adherence to best utility practices, safety standards, and continuous compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

The Electrical Engineer will work across both sites, leading the electrical and instrumentation teams by example with fairness, ethics, and integrity. This includes a commitment to safety leadership and ensuring a non-discriminatory culture.

About You

The successful candidate will bring tertiary qualifications as an Electrical Engineer, accompanied by 5 years of working experience within the power generation or heavy industry.

The successful candidate will also have experience in:

HV electrical system operation and maintenance.

Defect elimination and root cause analysis.

Review and improvement of planned maintenance/inspection policies and maintain ongoing PMO to improve maintenance strategies.

Project controls and administration.

Process experience, ideally on a thermal power plant.

The successful candidate will possess a commitment to safety and ensure others use safe working practices. They will also have strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Maintaining the procedures and standards for work relating to all electrical assets.

Ensuring the plants remain in compliance with statutory and operational requirements.

Managing the delivery of the services to the agreed budget.

Assist with the development and rollout of the CBM Asset Management plan.
