We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to manage an industry-leading network infrastructure environment.

As a key player in our dynamic team, you’ll be at the forefront of managing a sophisticated network environment, ensuring that our technology is robust, efficient, and ready for future challenges. This is a unique opportunity to work with the latest in Cisco technology, guiding projects that span across our Curtin campuses.

Selection Criteria:

• Cisco: Advanced skills with Cisco LAN/WAN (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR), wireless (WLCs, APs, RF design), VPN (DMVPN, AnyConnect), and voice technologies (CUCM, Unity, SIP, QoS) and experience designing and managing Cisco ISE, including 802.1X, profiling, posture assessment, and policy enforcement.
• Cisco Catalyst Centre (formerly DNA Centre): Experience with intent-based networking, automation, and assurance, and the ability to design and deploy automation workflows, templates, and integrations using APIs.
• Network Security: Solid knowledge of security practices, with hands-on experience using Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto NGFW, segmentation (TrustSec), and secure network connectivity.
• Scripting & Automation: Competency in automating tasks using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and related tools.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Expertise in network monitoring and diagnostics using tools like SolarWinds, Splunk, ThousandEyes, and DNA Assurance.
• AWS Networking Proficiency: Experience designing and managing AWS networking solutions (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), implementing cloud security, and using tools like AWS WAF and Lambda.
• Project Management & Teamwork: Proven experience managing complex projects, working autonomously or in teams, and actively sharing expertise.

Desirable qualifications:

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect, and skills in AWS CDK/SDK/CLI, Lambda, and Ansible.
• Possession of or progress towards certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE

Role Requirements:

1. Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents and be based in Perth, WA. Please note that visa sponsorship and/or relocation will not be supported for this role.
2. Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
3. Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
