We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. If you thrive on challenges and enjoy working across a variety of projects, this opportunity is perfect for you.
About the role
As a Quantity Surveyor at Deco Contracts, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of our projects. You will be responsible for accurate measurement, cost estimation, and financial reporting, working closely with our clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver outstanding results.
What you'll be doing
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial reports for construction projects
- Analyse and interpret tender documents, drawings and specifications to identify cost implications
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders
- Monitor project costs and variations, and provide regular updates to the project team
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the construction process
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with the project management team to optimise project delivery
- Assist in tender preparation and evaluation
- develop and manage Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Minimum 2 years' demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials and cost management principles
- Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and MS Office applications (CostX or similar)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards and safety requirements
