THE OPPORTUNITY
This dynamic role provides specialist support to the Manager – Purchasing, Leasing & Licensing, playing a key part in managing a diverse portfolio of leases and licences across Holmesglen Institute. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all insurance matters (excluding worker’s compensation), while actively supporting lease negotiations, coordinating rent collection, and contributing to asset management activities.
A strong focus on compliance is central to the role, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with regulatory requirements. You’ll also manage the coordination of short-term building hires, assess suitability and hire fees, and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
In addition, the role contributes to effective contract management, delivers regular reporting, and supports the development and review of relevant policies and procedures. Overall, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining efficient, compliant, and high-performing purchasing, leasing, and licensing functions across the Institute.
ABOUT YOU
- A degree in property management, business or similar field or a combination of extensive experience and other relevant qualifications.
- Substantial experience in managing commercial or residential property leases. Knowledge of the Retail Leases Act (Vic) and Residential Tenancies Act (Vic) and standard lease documents under those legislations.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with an ability to negotiate and influence outcomes and relate professionally to both internal and external stakeholders.
- High level organisational and work planning abilities, specifically the ability to arrange and set priorities consistent with Institute strategic and operational objectives.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office applications and demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate reports.

The Purchasing Department at Holmesglen is responsible for allocating and purchasing goods and services for the organisation. The department manages the daily purchasing, fleet operations, tenders, contract management, courier service, insurance and leasing / licensing management activities across the Institute. This includes contracts performance monitoring and reporting, including social procurement and modern slavery reporting.
