Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Bottle Shop Manager to join our team on a Tuesday - Saturday basis. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the store, assisting customers, managing stock, and ensuring the store is well-organised. You will play an essential part in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of the store

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet customers with a friendly and professional attitude

Assist customers in selecting products based on their preferences and needs

Provide recommendations and information about different types of alcoholic beverages, including wines, beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic options. Local wine knowledge is a bonus

Stock Management:

Receive deliveries and ensure products are stored correctly

Monitor stock levels and assist with stock replenishment on shelves. Fortnightly stock takes to be conducted

Ensure that products are stored and displayed according to store standards and health regulations

Store Organization:

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised store environment

Ensure that all products are correctly labelled, priced, and easy for customers to access

Ensuring beer lines are being cleaned on routine

Keep the store tidy, including the shelving, floors, and checkout areas

Cash Handling & POS System:

Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately using the POS system

Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments securely

Assist with the opening and closing of the store, ensuring all financial transactions are properly logged

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant alcohol regulations, including checking ID to verify the legal drinking age

Assist with stock rotation to ensure older stock is sold first and items are kept within expiration dates

Maintain knowledge of health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals and targets

Support the Venue Manager in executing promotional activities and merchandising strategies

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Basic math skills for handling transactions and stock management

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Desirable:

Previous knowledge in beer line cleaning is a bonus

Previous experience in bottle shop customer service Manager or similar role

Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, including different types of wines, spirits, and beers

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move stock (up to 20 kg)

Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
