About the Role
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will strengthen the University's engagement with charitable organisations and industry in a bid to expand and diversify our research funding and ultimately advance the University's key research priorities. This position will be responsible for identifying and securing new institutional research partnerships (both within Australia and overseas) which align with Flinders University's high-impact research agenda.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Philanthropy Manager will include, but are not limited to:

Identifying and cultivating new research partnership opportunities with national and international organisations and industry partners.

  • Developing and implementing strategies to position the university as a preferred partner to increase non-competitive (Category 3) research funding, and mapping partnership opportunities that align with the University's key research strengths and strategic priorities.
  • Supporting the preparation and negotiation of partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and strategic objectives.
  • Establishing revenue growth targets and developing a sustainable funding pipeline.
  • Representing the University in key external forums, promoting its research capabilities.

About You
The successful candidate will be an extensively experienced major gift fundraiser - preferably for a university, hospital or large not-for-profit organisation. They will demonstrate their exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with key existing stakeholders as well as potential new donors. The successful applicant will be an authentic leader who can naturally collaborate with donors in the design of new partnerships, and who can foster a genuine and long-lasting connection between the donors and Flinders University.

About the Office of Alumni and Advancement
