🔍 About the Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Oyster Hub, you’ll play a critical role in providing insightful financial analysis, preparing high-quality reports, and guiding clients toward smarter financial decisions. You'll collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while mentoring junior team members.

🧠 What You'll Do

Prepare financial statements and tax returns for a diverse client base (individuals, SMEs, and companies)

Provide strategic tax planning and advisory support

Advise clients on optimal trading structures

Prepare and lodge BAS and other ATO requirements

Deliver cash flow forecasts and budget plans

Conduct business benchmarking and performance analysis

Assist with payroll compliance and accurate onboarding/offboarding calculations

Mentor and support junior accountants within the team

Collaborate with a dynamic finance team on various accounting and tax projects

✅ What We're Looking For

3–5 years’ experience in a professional accounting environment (public practice preferred)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA or CA qualified (or actively pursuing — we offer support and mentoring)

Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws

Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Karbon and the Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage tasks independently while being a strong team player

Comfortable engaging directly with clients and solving complex problems
