NAWMA is proudly owned by the City of Salisbury, City of Playford and Town of Gawler. We manage kerbside collections for over 110,000 homes, run two Resource Recovery Centres, and operate award-winning recycling and renewable energy facilities — all from our contemporary headquarters in Edinburgh North.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Financial Accountant, you’ll:

Prepare and deliver financial reports and statements

Work with external auditors to ensure smooth annual audits

Maintain the asset register and AASB16 lease schedules

Manage monthly and quarterly budget processes

Undertake BAS, FBT, EPA and other compliance reporting

Prepare data reconciliations and Council invoicing

Support improvements in financial systems and reporting tools

Provide modelling and analysis that help guide business decisions

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

A degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (or equivalent experience)

Experience using financial systems and preparing financial statements

Sound understanding of accounting standards and internal controls

Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail

Strong organisational skills and ability to work both independently and in a team

Desirable:

CPA, CA, or IPA membership (or working towards)

Experience in Local Government, environmental services or regulated industries

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Navision
