About The Team
The Space and Timetabling team provide the highest quality services to support the teaching, research and commercial activities for Murdoch University. Aiming to provide equitable timesheets for our students in future focused teaching spaces. The team also oversees the strategic asset management for the University for the short, medium and longer term.
The Space and Timetabling team:
- Manages the space requirements for the University.
- Manage business information relating to the University's physical facilities.
- Produces the University Timetable.
- Manage venue hire for external and internal clients at Murdoch's three onshore campuses.
Your New Role!
The primary purpose of this role is to input information regarding University central teaching and non-central teaching space into the central timetabling system in accordance with University policy, with a focus on producing teaching timetables which target the efficient use of teaching space and supports the strategic direction of the University.
Your key responsibilities will include -
- Undertake accurate space audits and report on space utilisation as requested.
- Collect, prepare and verify timetabling data to ensure efficient, effective and equitable timetabling services are provided in accordance with University Timetable Policy.
- Liaise with academic and professional staff to produce a timetable within required timeframes and liaise with stakeholders regarding their use of space.
- Assist the Manager Resource Scheduling in space planning and space changing processes.
- Maintain knowledge and skills in the efficient use of timetabling tools and engage in process improvement activities.
- Provide information and reports on timetables and classes to all stakeholders in a timely and knowledgeable manner, including the provisions of details of weekend bookings to security, Facilities Management and other stakeholders.

This Fixed Term (2 Years) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) position attracts a remuneration of $77,000 - $94,000 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
- Completion of a degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- High level organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create, maintain and enhance relationships with staff and other stakeholders through constructive and collaborative interaction to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly competent computing skills including spreadsheet and database applications, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to interpret and comply with policies and operating procedures consistent with medium to large organisations.
