A leading player in the financial services space is expanding their Credit Risk team and looking for a sharp, commercially-minded Senior Data Scientist with deep IFRS9 experience to step into a newly created role with serious strategic impact.
The Opportunity

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill modelling role. You’ll be embedded in a team that owns projects end-to-end – from initial concept all the way to deployment – and your work will be used to shape credit strategy, pricing decisions, and risk appetite.

You’ll also have the chance to build and deploy ML apps, streamline model pipelines, and help drive innovation across the wider analytics and data science function.

Day-to-Day, You’ll Be:

• Leading the maintenance, development and retraining of IFRS9 models (PD, EAD, LGD).
• Owning scorecard and pricing models from design to monitoring.
• Collaborating with stakeholders in Finance, Risk and Credit to apply insights to real-world decisions.
• Building and deploying machine learning models in Python and/or DataRobot.
• Contributing to app development with tools like Streamlit and Snowflake.
• Bringing clarity to complex modelling for non-technical stakeholders.

About You

This is a great fit for someone who’s technically strong, commercially sharp and confident engaging across the business with expertise in IFRS9/AASB9 models .

You’ll likely tick most of these boxes:

• Strong hands-on experience with IFRS9 modelling.
• Strong track record with scorecards and/or pricing models.
• Expertise in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy etc.) and model deployment practices.
• Can explain technical concepts in a simple, compelling way.
• Comfortable building data pipelines and working in cloud environments (Snowflake, Azure DevOps, etc.).

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Streamlit (or similar web app frameworks).
• Familiarity with DataRobot, Snow Park or other MLOps tools.
