About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and optimise end-to-end payroll operations in a large, complex workforce environment.

This role suits a hands-on leader who not only thrives in BAU but also brings experience or exposure to payroll transformation, system implementations, or process improvement projects.

You’ll lead a small to mid-sized team while supporting upcoming changes to systems, vendors, or compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large, diverse employee base
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, EBAs, awards, and superannuation obligations
• Lead and mentor payroll team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to align payroll operations with business needs
• Contribute to or lead payroll system upgrades, vendor transitions, or implementation projects
• Support audits, reporting, and payroll data integrity across multiple systems

About You

• Proven experience as a Payroll Manager in medium to large organisations
• Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g. Chris21, ADP, Preceda, iChris, Dayforce)
• Exposure to or involvement in payroll system implementations, vendor changes, or process redesign
• Deep understanding of compliance frameworks, superannuation, and workforce legislation
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management across HR, Finance, and Exec teams
