Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Mainframe / COBOL / Hogan Engineer to join their team supporting critical banking systems. This role involves a blend of BAU support and project-based development within a core banking environment. You’ll be working closely with technical leads and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while maintaining the stability and performance of production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Run (Production Support):

Provide overnight on-call production support on a rotating roster

Perform incident and problem management

Conduct regular monitoring and system health checks

Change (Enhancement & Project Work):

Consult with stakeholders on system capabilities and constraints

Develop technical designs and deliver solutions

Perform coding, unit testing, and system testing

Support testing phases and assist with implementation

Skills & Experience:

5–10 years’ experience in Mainframe development, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS

Hands-on experience with mainframe tools: Expeditor, Endeavor, File-Aid

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Hogan, in areas such as: - Loans, Deposits, Customer Information, ODS, PAS, Umbrella, CAMS

Knowledge of the Banking and Finance industry

Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
