Leading Hand - Grounds Maintenance | Full Time | Wagga

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Grounds Maintenance professional to join our team in Wagga. In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for leading a small crew and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of Land Management services.

This is a hands-on leadership role, offering an excellent work-life balance with a Monday to Friday roster, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting Defence operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mowing
• Brush cutting
• Edging
• Pruning
• General gardening
• Green waste removal
• Weed, pest, and disease control

• Lead and coordinate a small grounds maintenance crew
• Manage daily work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely and quality service delivery
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure expectations are met
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and report progress to supervisors
• Operate and oversee the safe use of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
• Ensure team compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards and Spotless/Defence policies
• Mentor team members and support on-the-job training

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or similar supervisory role, preferably in grounds or facilities maintenance
• Strong leadership and communication skills - both verbal and written
• Experience in coordinating teams and delivering work programs
• Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction
• Australian Citizenship (required for Defence site access)
• Valid Open Class Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle

Desirable Licences & Certifications:

• Medium Rigid Truck Licence
• Chainsaw Cross-Cut Ticket
• ChemCert Certification
• Asbestos Awareness Certificate
• Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control Licence
