Sous Chef – Ophelia Westgarth

Ophelia is a cozy and vibrant eatery in the heart of Westgarth, known for our commitment to seasonal, local produce and thoughtfully crafted dishes. We’re looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our team—someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for fresh, local ingredients, and a keen eye for detail.

About the Role:

Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and maintaining high standards.

Execute and contribute to a seasonal, produce-driven menu with a focus on quality and consistency.

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and efficient prep.

Bring strong baking and pastry skills, from house-made cakes to tarts and scrolls.

Assist with ordering, stock management, and minimizing waste.

Maintain a well-organized, clean, and efficient kitchen environment.

Foster a positive, team-focused kitchen culture.

Flexible Roster - Day & Night shifts available

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a café or restaurant with a focus on seasonal ingredients.

Strong skills in baking and pastry (laminated pastry experience is a bonus but not essential).

A genuine passion for food, sustainability, and quality produce.

Leadership qualities—ability to train, support, and inspire the team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Availability to work 5 days per week, including weekends.
