The Company
APCO Engineering is a family-owned Foundry and Machine Shop, that has been in operation for over 50 years. We work closely with our customers and strive to provide excellent service to them.

The Position
APCO is seeking to employ a Workshop Supervisor for our Machine Shop in Hobart, Tasmania.

The position involves managing a team of trades personnel involved in manual and CNC machining and fitting operations. The job involves the management of the machine shop, assembly equipment and processes.
You will require an excellent technical knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes as well as the ability to interface with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Work in a safe and productive manner.

Technical management of work processes.

Costing, estimating and quoting jobs.

Assist in the continual improvement of APCO’s processes.

Provide technical support to ensure all works are completed to quality requirements.

Continuous Improvement

QA Systems, processes and procedures.

Constant improvement of processes systems and procedures.

Improvements to deliver targets and KPIs.

Improved technical practices for the team.

Develop and maintain strong healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Guide and mentor apprentices.

To be Successful in the role you will have

Pro-active safety focus.

A mechanical trade qualification as a fitter and turner.

Experience in leading and managing small work teams.

The ability to work as part of a team.

A current driver’s license.

Computer literate, able to work with Microsoft Office suite.

Communicate well both over the phone and via Outlook.
