As a result of recent growth we are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working individual to join us as an Automotive Electrician within our Vehicle Processing Team.
This role will best suit a hard-working individual with a positive attitude and previous experience in the automotive industry. We pride ourselves on having an open-door culture in a diverse, supportive and friendly environment.
Duties and Skills:
- Performing fleet and asset component installations
- Electrical tasks including designing, installing and testing 12v/24v circuits in the vehicles and componentry (Solar and Battery Systems)
- Developing internal “off-grid” security assets, tasked with the design and deployment.
- Designing and deploying custom "off-grid" security and surveillance systems for vehicles, including wiring, power management, and connectivity features.
- Diagnosing and repairing the electrical faults in vehicle systems
- Fitting and installing genuine and aftermarket vehicle electrical accessories such as lighting systems, reversing cameras, GPS units, audio/visual components, and other in-vehicle technology
- Preparing each vehicle in line with Client, Manufacturer and Dealership requirements
- Use a variety of power and hand tools, and/or other equipment to carry out relevant tasks
- Mechanical tasks including SPO fitment
- Safe manoeuvring of vehicles in and around the compound and workshop
- Carry out duties within set timeframes following all instructions
- Obey all speed limits and safety zones whilst driving vehicles
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and production goals
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to support a smooth workflow
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
- Comply and adhere to all Prixcar HSEQ policies including but not limited to hazard and incident; reporting, site rules, participate in all training and returning to work programs
- Must comply and adhere to State and National Legislation
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Cert IV Automotive Electrical Technology
- Hold a relevant Australian State Drivers’ Licence (ability to drive a manual vehicle preferred)
- Understanding and experience interfacing with 12v /24v/36v electrical systems and circuits
- Experience in low voltage solar power applications is an advantage
- Experienced Mechanical/ electrical aptitude
- Reliable and a dedicated person with drive and energy
- Willing to support your teammates where needed
- Show initiative and flexibility in your approach to work
- Proven skills in multitasking, managing your own time and meeting tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Track record of responsibility when handling high profile assets
- Prior experience in the auto industry an advantage
