The Dental Assistant will provide excellent customer focus, professionalism and an emphasis on teamwork in the dental surgery ensuring the provision of high quality, effective and efficient dental services for patients by undertaking dental assistant duties consistent with established dental assisting standards. They are entrusted with maintaining patient-focused procedures, which means we go the extra mile to ensure our patients look forward to their visits.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee patient care from the moment they enter the surgery, including recall management

Prepare and provide equipment, instruments and dental consumables for each patient according to dental treatment.

Provide high quality chairside assistance to the Dentist including dental charting

Assist the dental operator in client behaviour management where appropriate

Cultivate and sustain positive connections by delivering exceptional customer service to our patients

Manage and undertake instrument sterilisation and implement infection control measures

Undertake infection control procedures (including waste and sharps disposal) in the dental surgery and throughout the entire dental clinic.

Undertake dental health education and participate in dental health promotion activities

Undertake other duties as required

Adhere to Supercare Dental and Cosmetics Code of Conduct, ensuring professional conduct is maintained at all times

Comply with policies, procedures, systems and processes of Supercare Dental and Cosmetics

Ensure organisational, staff and client confidentiality is maintained at all times

Actively contribute to and promote safety, quality and improvements in the workplace

Position Criteria:

Cert III or Cert IV in Dental Assisting

Previous experience in a similar role

Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination (and preferably Tetanus also)

Sound awareness and understanding of infection control principals

Demonstrated ability to work as a constructive team member

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A commitment to quality, client-focused care

Ability to work under pressure and be open and adaptive to change.

Flexibility in task performance, work location (dental surgery) and hours of work

Commitment to continuing education and professional development, organisation funded or self sponsored

Schedule:

8-hour shift

Monday to Friday

Rotating roster

Weekend availability
