The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to the NatCrash project, a federally funded initiative investigating road traffic injury compensation data. This role will see you analyse and harmonise large-scale claims, service and payment data across multiple jurisdictions—delivering insights that can influence national injury prevention and health policy.

You’ll be part of the Healthy Working Lives Group, working closely with researchers, government partners and policy leaders. Alongside your NatCrash responsibilities, you’ll contribute to other quantitative research projects within the School.

Your key contributions

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research with real policy relevance
  • Prepare high-quality publications, research proposals and data-driven insights
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and research support staff
  • Collaborate across disciplines, contributing to broader research initiatives in health systems and services

What you’ll bring

  • A doctoral qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills (R, Stata, or SPSS), with a track record of research outputs
  • Experience in health services or injury compensation research is desirable
  • Ability to manage projects, work independently, and collaborate across diverse teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
