About the role
Are you a passionate and experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) professional looking to make a real impact? We are seeking a dedicated WHS Advisor to join our team and support ongoing projects across the Cairns region. This role offers a dynamic mix of field and office-based work, with opportunities to influence safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Attributes

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or Diploma of WHS/OHS
• WHS investigation training (e.g. ICAM)
• General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Current “C” Class Queensland Driver’s Licence
• Demonstrated experience in WHS advisory roles, including system implementation and monitoring
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, auditing, and risk management
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

Key Duties

• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS)
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and safe work practices
• Coach and mentor staff and supervisors on WHS responsibilities and the Safety Circle philosophy
• Investigate incidents and hazards, provide root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
• Support WHS Representatives and contribute to WHS training and documentation
• Stay up to date with WHS legislation and industry best practices
