CGC Recruitment are working in partnership with a market leading, tier 2 Commercial & Industrial building head contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Project Engineer to play a key role within their pre-construction team.

The Client

Our client deliver high-quality commercial & industrial projects across Western Australia, typically ranging from $20-60m. With a reputation built on innovation, integrity, and seamless project delivery, they pride themselves on driving value and excellence from concept through to construction.

Due to growth, they are are expanding their Pre-Construction team and seeking a highly capable Senior Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in the early project lifecycle — from feasibility through to contract award.

The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer in the Pre-Construction team, you will work closely with the Pre-Con Manager, Estimators, and Design Managers to ensure robust planning, accurate programming, buildability analysis, and risk identification on upcoming projects. Your deep construction knowledge and practical engineering insights will support seamless transition from early-stage design to site delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of project methodologies and construction programs during early design and tender phases.
• Provide technical input to design management, including buildability reviews and value engineering.
• Contribute to scope definition, trade packaging strategies, and procurement planning.
• Engage with consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to ensure practical outcomes.
• Identify and assess project risks, constraints, and opportunities.
• Support cost planning through construction methodology alignment and staging input.
• Collaborate across departments to maintain project momentum and clarity through to contract award.

About You

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 6 years' experience in project engineering or site-based roles within the commercial or industrial construction sectors.
• Proven experience in pre-construction, early works planning, or tender support preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and logistics.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and liaise across multidisciplinary teams.
• Solutions-focused, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.
